YEP! >>Youth Empowerment Program<<

Join Uprising at our bi-weekly YEP (Youth Empowerment Program) meeting. These meetings are open to all middle or high school youth. You can jump in at anytime!

What is YEP?
>> YEP is Uprising’s Youth Empowerment Program! A safe space for youth to be their authentic selves, to be empowered with information to keep themselves and their community safer, and a place to foster youth leadership skills.

Where is YEP?
>> YEP bi-weekly meeting locations occasionally change, and we will be meeting at Calamity Books on 231 S. Main Street throughout this summer.

What do youth DO at YEP?
>> Youth learn about and discuss topics such as grooming, healthy relationships, bullying, online safety, healthy boundaries, red and green flags and more. They also help Uprising staff shape their youth programming to stay relevant with youth. And they plan and take part in events around the community. Mostly, they have FUN!

When is YEP?
>> Through the summer YEP is having their “official” meetings biweekly on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5pm at Calamity Books. They also often meet on the opposite week for a more informal “hangout” and participate in various activities and tasks at those.

Who can be in YEP?
>> YEP is for any youth who are in middle or high school.

How do I get involved with YEP?
>> Just show up and try out a meeting or 3! If you want to become a YEP member who participates regularly we will send you home with a permission form for your parent/guardian.
